Near the city of Svobodny, a bus carrying workers collided with a passenger car and overturned. As a result of the accident, one person died and several others were seriously injured.
This was reported by the TASS news agency. According to information, on the evening of October 16, a Toyota Probox passenger car collided with a bus transporting workers at the construction site of the Amur gas-chemical complex.
The bus belonged to the Turkish company Yamata and carried citizens of Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Due to the strong collision, the bus veered off the road and overturned.
Emergency and rescue services arrived at the scene. According to official information, a total of 49 people were injured, one of whom died at the scene.
Fourteen people were hospitalized, and one person is being treated in intensive care in serious condition. The Russian Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the incident.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 238-1 of the Criminal Code — "Provision of work or services that do not meet safety requirements." The causes of the incident are currently being examined.
Preliminary information suggests that the driver of the passenger car may have violated traffic rules. The bus and the passenger car will undergo technical examination.
The Yamata company announced that it has formed a special commission following the incident and that medical assistance is being provided to the injured workers. According to local media reports, the workers on the bus were mainly foreign specialists working at the construction site of the Amur gas-chemical complex, and they are transported daily by the company’s transport service.
