On October 18, 2025, millions of citizens across the United States took to the streets to protest against the political policies of the country's president, Donald Trump. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Reuters agency, more than 2,700 rallies were held in various regions. The largest demonstrations took place in Washington, New York, and Chicago.
Overall, approximately seven million people participated in all gatherings. Protesters carried American flags and placards with various slogans.
Among them, slogans such as "No to Kings," "Billionaires are destroying America," "Get rid of the regime," and "Not monarchy, democracy" were widespread. These slogans expressed the main goal of the rally – a call for freedom and people's governance.
According to Reuters, the actions were peaceful and orderly. Alongside young people, elderly individuals and families with children also took part in the demonstrations.
No cases of violence or arrests were reported. Lee Greenberg, co-founder of the Indivisible organization, commented on the rallies: "For Americans, nothing is more important than exercising the right to peaceful protest by saying 'We have no kings.'" Observers believe that these rallies are not just a one-day protest but an expression of deep dissatisfaction with Trump's future political actions.
In particular, policies such as restricting immigration, deploying the National Guard to cities, and criminally prosecuting political opponents have caused great concern among citizens. Trump, however, defends these actions as measures to combat crime and strengthen national security.
The Republican Party described the protests as hate-driven actions against America. These rallies took place against the backdrop of a government shutdown that temporarily halted some social programs.
As a result, hundreds of thousands of government employees became unemployed, which further intensified public discontent. These demonstrations are the second major wave following similar actions held in June.
According to American public opinion, through these rallies, citizens once again reminded of their democratic rights. Interestingly, while the protests were ongoing, President Trump was playing golf in Florida.
This situation was perceived by many as a political symbol – the people were in the streets, while the leader was at leisure. Thus, the mass protests in the United States marked a new stage in the country's politics.
The voices of millions of citizens showed that the struggle for democracy and freedom is still ongoing.
