A new era is beginning in Japanese politics. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The country's leading Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Japan Innovation Party announced on October 20 that they had officially formed a coalition. This news is regarded as a significant change in the country's political life.
In a statement, Hirofumi Yoshimura, leader of the Innovation Party, emphasized that the two parties aim to develop Japan together. According to them, this alliance will open new opportunities for the country.
At the same time, a political tradition that lasted 26 years in Japan has come to an end. Previously, the LDP ruled together with the Buddhist organization Komeito party, but following the election of the new leader Sanae Takaichi, Komeito decided to leave the government coalition.
The elections for LDP leadership and the formation of the new coalition are considered an important turning point in the country's political life. Sanae Takaichi has gained significant attention as she may become the first female prime minister in Japanese history.
Although the alliance with the Innovation Party ensured her victory, they are still two seats short of securing a majority in parliament. This increases the likelihood of difficulties in government operations.
According to the Kyodo news agency, representatives of the Innovation Party have so far decided not to join the new government. Sanae Takaichi is a protégé of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and also respects the political views of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
According to the Associated Press, Takaichi's rise to prime minister is not seen as a significant step forward in gender equality in the country. Many feminists consider some of her views to be conservative.
For example, she opposes allowing women to keep their maiden names after marriage. According to Japanese law, married couples are required to choose a single family name.
Additionally, Takaichi does not support the idea of including women in the Chrysanthemum Throne succession list. The formation of the new coalition is being evaluated not only as a political but also as a cultural turning point.
Takaichi's leadership may mark the beginning of a new political phase for the country. These changes are of great importance for the future of Japanese politics and society.
