Ukraine and the European Union have developed a new peace plan aimed at ending the war with Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The document consists of 12 main points, most of which are focused on protecting Kyiv's geopolitical and security interests. The first point of the plan is dedicated to ensuring Ukraine's territorial integrity and independence.
The next two points involve the cessation of military actions and the exchange of prisoners. The fourth point is aimed at developing economic cooperation, while the fifth focuses on providing security guarantees.
This new concept is a revised version of the peace plan presented by Zelensky in Istanbul in 2022. The document includes proposals such as Russia stopping military actions, exchanging prisoners, returning Ukrainian children, conducting negotiations on territories under Russian control, and not recognizing territorial claims.
Additionally, the European Union and Western countries are expected to provide security guarantees to Ukraine, accelerate Kyiv's process of joining the European Union, and allocate financial aid for the restoration of Ukraine's economy. Sanctions against Russia are planned to be lifted gradually, but only if Moscow actively participates in Ukraine's recovery process.
Furthermore, a special "Peace Council" led by U.S. President Donald Trump is proposed to be established to oversee the implementation of the plan. Experts believe this document is a political initiative by Ukraine and the European Union aimed at increasing pressure on Russia and portraying the West as a peace-loving force.
However, the likelihood of Russia accepting this plan is very low, as it is seen as a direction that politically forces Russia to surrender. The final version of the plan is currently being developed and may undergo some changes.
European officials emphasize the need to coordinate theses with the Trump administration in the U.S. It is expected that the plan may be officially presented to the White House during a visit by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
This initiative is viewed by the West as a new sign of political support for Ukraine. Russian officials have not yet commented on this proposal.
Sources close to the Kremlin have stated that this plan is an attempt to diplomatically consolidate the geopolitical victory of Ukraine and Europe. Thus, the new 12-point plan is regarded as a tool of political pressure under the guise of a peace initiative.
Europe and Ukraine are trying through this to leave Russia diplomatically isolated on the international stage.
