Attempt to kidnap Mostovoy exposed
In Saint Petersburg, there was an attempted kidnapping of Russia's famous footballer, Zenit club midfielder Andrey Mostovoy, by a criminal group. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The incident occurred on October 23 in a residential area on Vyazov Street. According to investigation data, unknown individuals planned to forcibly put the footballer into a car and restrict his freedom.

However, the plan failed due to unforeseen circumstances. Mostovoy's friend arrived at the scene and intervened against the attackers, forcing them to flee.

Two days later, the same individuals committed another crime on Krestovsky Island. They forcibly put a local businessman into a car near a store, forced him to transfer 210 thousand rubles, and later demanded compensation of 10 million rubles.

According to the Russian Investigative Committee, during a special operation, four suspects were detained. They were charged with serious crimes including kidnapping, attempted kidnapping, and robbery.

Currently, investigators are examining all the details of the crime. It was reported that Mostovoy was not injured and is in a safe place.

He gave testimony to the investigative authorities, and his statement has been added to the case materials. Local media reports suggest that the attackers may have intended to gain financial profit by kidnapping the footballer.

Due to prompt actions and the intervention of witnesses, the plan was not carried out. The detained individuals have been placed in temporary detention facilities, and their identities as well as other related persons are being identified.

The Russian football community is seriously concerned about the incident. Although Zenit club officials have not yet commented, measures to ensure the safety of team members have been strengthened.

Thus, the event in Saint Petersburg has seriously troubled not only the sports world but also the wider public. Investigative authorities continue to work on identifying the motives and interested parties behind the crime.
