Former US President Donald Trump announced Kazakhstan's accession to the Abraham Accords. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The statement was made during an official lunch at the White House attended by leaders of Central Asian countries. The Abraham Accords is an international initiative aimed at improving relations between Israel and predominantly Islamic countries, restoring and normalizing diplomatic ties.
Although Kazakhstan had previously established full diplomatic and economic relations with Israel, joining this initiative holds symbolic significance and aims to strengthen regional cooperation. According to Trump, during the meeting he communicated with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and leaders of four other Central Asian countries.
This meeting was intended to increase US influence in the region while aiming to maintain a balance against the growing influence of Russia and China. Kazakhstan's accession to the Abraham Accords is expected to add new momentum to political and economic processes in the region.
