The U.S. Department of State has announced some technical changes regarding the Diversity Visa (DV-2027) lottery for the year 2027. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This news was announced through the department's official website. It is stated that the Green Card program will not be canceled; only organizational changes related to the application submission and result announcement deadlines will be implemented.
The program's rules and mechanism will remain as before. Winners of the DV-2027 lottery will have the opportunity to submit documents for an immigration visa from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
Additional information about the updated process and deadlines will be announced later. Also, starting from September 16, 2024, a new fee of 1 U.S. dollar has been introduced for lottery registration.
This measure was introduced to improve the payment system for consular services. The Diversity Visa program annually provides about 50,000 immigration visas to countries with low migration rates to the U.S.
The main goal of the program is to attract representatives of various nationalities and ensure demographic balance. Lottery results, as usual, are checked through the Entry Status Check (ESC) system.
Through this system, participants can find out their winning status using their numbers and personal information. In previous years, application acceptance for the lottery usually started at the beginning of October and ended in early November.
For example, applications for the DV-2026 program were accepted on October 2, 2024. However, in 2025, this schedule was disrupted.
According to experts, the new organizational changes will make the program mechanism more transparent and efficient. The introduction of a fee during the registration process is expected to help reduce cases of fraud.
The Green Card program remains a primary opportunity for thousands of citizens aiming to immigrate to the U.S. The new changes are aimed at making the process orderly and convenient.
