The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for 37 individuals, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the Anadolu news agency. They are accused of crimes against humanity and genocide.
The list also includes Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Ketz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. According to the prosecutor's office, as a result of the actions taken by the Israeli government in the Gaza Strip, women and children have lost their lives, and many people have been injured.
Additionally, some areas have become uninhabitable. The prosecutor's statement says that Israeli officials should be held accountable for crimes against humanity, acts of genocide committed in the Gaza Strip, and measures taken against the Sumud global flotilla.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar responded to this decision, describing it as a political PR move by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He accused the Turkish judicial system of putting political opponents under pressure and arresting journalists.
However, the Palestinian HAMAS movement supported this initiative and highly appreciated the position of the Turkish people and leadership. According to CNN, HAMAS expressed gratitude to Istanbul.
