The South Korean government plans to impose restrictions on foreign bloggers spreading false or insulting information about the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Korea Times reported on this matter. It is known that during a Cabinet meeting, Justice Minister Chun Son Ho raised this issue and proposed banning such bloggers from entering the country.
According to him, this measure is aimed at protecting South Korea's international reputation. The minister emphasized that efforts are underway to restrict the entry of foreigners promoting hatred or insults against South Korea.
Previously, such videos were considered "clickbait," but if the new rules come into effect, they could lead to serious consequences. Such bloggers may not only be denied entry into the country but could also face investigation.
This initiative was proposed following several incidents. For example, American streamer Johnny was summoned for investigation due to a video disturbing public order, while Japanese blogger Debo-chan faced criticism for spreading false information.
Officials believe the new system will be an effective measure against content that unjustly insults Korean culture and society. It is expected to strengthen the country's international image.
