
A traffic accident in Madina caused a major tragedy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Near the city of Madina in Saudi Arabia, a bus carrying Umrah pilgrims collided with a tanker carrying diesel fuel, resulting in a fire. It has been reported that at least 42 people died as a result of the incident.
This was reported by the “Hindustan Times.” It was confirmed that among the deceased were 16 citizens from Hyderabad, India.
Due to the complete burning of the bus, the identification of the victims is still ongoing. Officials emphasize the complexity of this process because the accident was very severe.
According to preliminary information, the tragedy occurred around 01:30 local time in the area of the city of Mufrihat, located 160 kilometers from Madina. There were a total of 43 passengers on the bus, and it is estimated that only one person survived.
Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar expressed deep condolences over this tragedy and extended sympathy to the families of the deceased. He also stated that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are working to provide necessary assistance to the victims.
After the tragedy, the Indian Embassy in Jeddah established a special helpline. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also contacted the embassy, requesting to expedite the identification of the deceased and the repatriation of the bodies to India.
In his statement, he emphasized the importance of providing immediate medical assistance to the victims and returning the bodies of the deceased to their homeland.
