Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new law strengthening liability for terrorism. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to BBC, under this law, criminal liability for terrorism-related crimes will now begin at the age of 14.
The law establishes life imprisonment for inciting or involving minors in such crimes. According to sources, these changes align penalties for terrorism with Russia's current anti-terrorism legislation.
In particular, the possibility of suspended sentences is abolished, sentencing below the minimum threshold is prohibited, and prisoners cannot be conditionally released before serving at least 75 percent of their sentence. The new law aims to further strengthen the fight against terrorism in Russia and prevent such crimes.
