Attack on church in Nigeria: two people killed

Armed individuals attacked a local church in Eruku town, Kwara State, Nigeria, killing two people. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to witnesses, on the evening of November 18, a group of armed men stormed the outskirts of the town and began firing indiscriminately. Local residents emphasized that the attackers were well-armed and acted swiftly.
Due to fear, people fled to nearby forests. According to a resident of the town, the armed individuals killed two people and abducted several others.
However, the exact number of people kidnapped remains unknown. The local population notes that constant attacks have been occurring in Eruku over the past three weeks.
The Kwara State police reported that rapid response forces were deployed to the scene and forced the bandits to retreat. During the police investigation, the body of one man was found inside the church, and another body was discovered in a nearby forest.
A member of the local self-defense group was injured by gunfire and hospitalized. Kwara State Governor Abdurahman Abdurazzaq strongly condemned the attack and ordered the strengthening of security measures.
He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized that the government is taking all necessary measures to stabilize the situation. The governor also recalled that recently the Nigerian government sent nearly 900 soldiers to Kwara State to ensure security.
This attack occurred just days after 26 school students were abducted in Kebbi. During that incident, two students managed to escape, but the deputy school principal was killed.
The Nigerian government is taking serious measures to ensure regional security.
