Another tragic incident occurred in Nigeria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On November 21, armed unknown individuals attacked a Catholic boarding school, kidnapping more than 200 students and several teachers. NBC News reported this based on information from the Christian Association.
The incident took place at Saint Mary Secondary School located in western Nigeria. Students aged 12–17 study at this school.
As a result of the attack, 215 students and 12 teachers were unlawfully taken away. This event is the second similar attack recorded within a week.
According to police reports, there were no security forces present at the school at the time of the incident. After the event, military personnel and special units were dispatched to the school.
The state government criticized the school administration for starting the educational process without government permission. In their opinion, this decision endangered the safety of students and staff.
Local residents and witnesses say that during the attack, there were neither police nor security services at the school. This allowed the criminals to act without any resistance.
This incident once again highlighted the weakness of Nigeria's security system, the serious problem of child abductions, and the activities of armed gangs.
