Officials from Britain, Germany, and France reviewed the new peace plan on Ukraine presented by the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The content of this document surprised Europeans. According to Der Spiegel, at first glance, this plan is unacceptable for European countries.
Within the framework of the G20 summit, several allied countries agreed on their positions regarding this issue. According to information, Germany and other countries closely cooperating with Ukraine do not support the current version of the 28-point plan proposed by Donald Trump.
They emphasize the need for a fundamental revision of this document. European countries have prepared their proposals and sent the revised draft to the United States, but the details have not yet been disclosed.
European Council President António Costa stated that the European Union supports the peace process but noted that many points in Trump's proposed plan require serious editing. In this regard, he called on the leaders of the 27 EU member states to participate in a special meeting dedicated to the Ukraine issue.
Additionally, leaders of European countries, Canada, and Japan acknowledged that the plan contains three or four important elements, but noted that some points cause significant concern. In particular, the proposal to recognize the Donbass and Crimea regions as belonging to Russia is completely unacceptable to them.
In conclusion, the US proposal can be seen as a basis for Europe, but it is impossible to implement it in its current form. Allied countries have decided to continue revising the document to properly set the peace process on the right track.
