Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has prepared a new book dedicated to his 20 days spent in prison and announced it. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The 70-year-old politician detailed his experiences in detention and the conditions at La Santé prison in his work. According to the "Fayar" publishing house, the book clearly reveals Sarkozy's mental state during his imprisonment.
He particularly emphasized the noise and constant commotion at La Santé prison, noting that it is impossible to feel calm and peace there. In an excerpt from the book, he writes: "There is nothing worthwhile to engage in at the prison.
The noise never stops, and there is absolutely no silence," he writes. According to the author, life in prison can be compared to a deserted desert, and living there requires a genuine mental struggle.
The new book is titled "Nicolas Sarkozy: The Prisoner's Diary" and consists of 216 pages. The book will be available in bookstores starting December 10, 2025.
As a reminder, on November 10, 2025, the Paris Court of Appeal reviewed the evidence presented by Sarkozy's lawyers and granted his request for release. Sarkozy had been held in custody since October 21.
He is now free but remains under judicial supervision. The French Prosecutor's Office did not oppose the court's decision.
It is also worth adding that imprisonment cases among world politicians continue. For example, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was recently arrested and sentenced to 27 years and 3 months in prison.
