As a result of the battles in the city of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine, female military personnel were captured by Russian forces. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to military expert Yevgeniy Mikhaylov, the prisoners are being held in accordance with the requirements of the Geneva Convention. Among them are various professionals, including medical personnel and drone operators.
On November 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the complete blockade of the cities of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov. Experts emphasize that the situation in these areas is difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and some soldiers were forced to surrender en masse.
It is reported that among those captured are foreign mercenaries as well. However, Western media outlets focus more on internal problems within the Ukrainian army, particularly cases of sexual harassment and violence against female soldiers.
According to The Washington Post, some female soldiers were discriminated against and subjected to pressure by their comrades. Additionally, Poland's Do Rzeczy publication cited accusations by doctor Yuliya Kobrinovich.
She stated that she feared violence from her commander and was even threatened with death. According to data, over 70,000 women serve in the Ukrainian army as of early 2025.
However, internal problems and pressures negatively affect their service activities.
