Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy provided information about the ongoing negotiations on the peace plan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, issues related to Russia are being discussed with the participation of Ukraine, European allies, and the United States. This plan was revised after meetings held in Geneva and Florida.
Zelenskiy called three main issues in the negotiations – territories, security guarantees, and financial assistance – the most complex. On Monday, Zelenskiy traveled to France.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian delegation held meetings with US officials in Florida. At a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelenskiy emphasized that the final version of the peace plan has not yet been agreed upon.
The meetings lasted six and a half hours. Zelenskiy noted the issue of territories as the most difficult section.
According to him, the issue of financial assistance is difficult to resolve without an agreement with European countries. He also stated that clear positions of the US and European countries are important regarding security guarantees.
According to information circulated in the media, the initial version of the peace plan includes proposals such as recognizing the territories occupied by Russia, withdrawing Ukrainian troops, and lifting sanctions. However, Ukraine opposes these proposals.
Zelenskiy firmly stressed that Russia must not evade responsibility for its aggressive actions. A mechanism similar to NATO is being developed regarding security guarantees.
Zelenskiy announced that proposals are being prepared by Europe's "coalition of volunteers." Additionally, Western countries are considering the possibility of using Russia's frozen assets for defense and reconstruction.
However, no final decision has been made on this matter yet. In the future, Zelenskiy and other diplomats plan to continue negotiations to finalize the peace plan.
Russia, on the other hand, states that it will not abandon its firm demands regarding the conditions for stopping the war.
