Small towns in Russia are at risk of disappearing due to existing problems. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The mass migration of young people to large cities, insufficiently developed infrastructure, and the aging population are leading to serious consequences in these areas. According to analyses, these factors could cause hundreds of small towns to completely vanish from the map in the coming years.
Youth mainly prefer to move to large cities. The reason for this is the limited economic opportunities and lack of modern services in small towns.
In large cities, education, job opportunities, and infrastructure are well developed, attracting young people. At the same time, the population of small towns is increasingly aging.
As a result of the new generation moving away, social and economic opportunities in these areas are decreasing, and living conditions are becoming more difficult. This puts the future of small towns at risk.
