Discovery (WBD) has sent an official offer to buy one share for 30 dollars in cash. This was reported by CNBC.
The offer is backed by financing worth a total of 41 billion dollars, with additional funds expected to be provided by RedBird Capital and Affinity Partners, owned by Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law. WBD management has a ten-day period to respond to this offer.
If the company does not respond within this period, Paramount will have the right to extend its offer to shareholders. During this time, any WBD shareholder can sell their shares to Paramount at a price of 30 dollars.
If Paramount succeeds in purchasing 51 percent of the outstanding shares, the company will gain full control over Warner Bros. Discovery.
According to Raymond James analyst Rick Prentiss, this offer is expected to receive significant interest and support from shareholders.
