An interesting study was conducted on the reading habits of Russians and the impact of these habits on their professional activities. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The study, carried out by the Litres book service and the "Setka" social network, examined the correlation between a person's profession, position, income level, and their reading habits. According to the data, the most avid readers are department heads, with 18 percent reading five or more books per month.
Top managers read an average of three to four books per month. The majority of Russians read one or two books per month (54 percent), 15 percent read three to four books, and 9 percent read five or more books.
Interest in reading also varies by professional field. Marketers and PR managers are the most active readers, with 81 percent stating they enjoy reading.
Representatives of the science and education sector rank second (79 percent), followed by lawyers in third place (73 percent). Although classic literature is the most read genre, business literature is also the most popular among top managers (41 percent).
The study results show that reading books has a positive effect on career growth. Sixty-two percent of department heads and top managers emphasized that books helped them get promoted and increase their income.
However, this effect is not yet very noticeable among junior specialists. The three most popular books that helped Russians succeed at work are:
1.
Maqsim Batirev's "45 Tattoos of a Manager". 2.
Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad". 3.
Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People". Additionally, fiction also holds an important place.
Jack London's "Martin Eden" and Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind" are among the most popular books. The study results once again confirm that reading books significantly contributes not only to personal development but also to professional success.
