At the same time, the US government recently set an additional deadline until mid-January 2024 for "Lukoyl" to find buyers. Brian Lanza is currently preparing negotiations to sell "Lukoyl"'s assets to the US investment bank Xtellus Partners.
According to Reuters, Xtellus Partners is considered the main claimant for "Lukoyl"'s foreign assets. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's Minister of Energy, Jorabek Mirzamahmudov, stated that negotiations with the US regarding "Lukoyl"'s assets in the country are ongoing.
The minister said that this issue will be resolved based on international legal norms and Uzbekistan's interests. It is worth noting that Brian Lanza is an American political strategist and lobbyist who has also worked as an advisor to the Republican Party.
He advised Donald Trump during the presidential election campaigns of 2016, 2020, and 2024.
