
A charity event was organized for the family of Muhammadaziz Umurzoqov, an Uzbek student who died as a result of a shooting at Brown University. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this event, more than 5,000 donations have been collected so far, totaling 229 thousand US dollars. The goal is to raise 260 thousand dollars.
The largest donation was made by William Ackman, who contributed 18 thousand dollars. This tragic incident occurred on December 14 during an exam at the university's engineering faculty.
Two people died as a result of the shooting, and nine others were injured. Later, the suspect Benjamin Erikson was apprehended on the university campus.
The then US President Donald Trump called the incident a "horrible event" and urged prayers for the victims. Founded in 1764, Brown University is one of the oldest and most prestigious private higher education institutions in the United States.
It is part of the Ivy League and is located in Providence, Rhode Island.
