Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is continuing peace negotiations in Berlin with US envoys and European leaders. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the negotiations, Ukraine has expressed its readiness to give up the intention to join NATO while demanding security guarantees from Western countries. Zelenskiy and US representatives, including Jared Kushner, are discussing a number of issues during the talks.
At the same time, Kremlin representatives are presenting Ukraine’s non-membership in NATO as a key demand and are awaiting the next steps from the US in this regard. The European Union plans to consider granting a loan to Ukraine at the end of the week using the frozen assets of the Russian central bank.
European leaders are placing great emphasis on ensuring Ukraine’s security and supporting the peace process. During the negotiations, work is being done on trilateral documents.
These include a 20-point peace plan, security guarantees for Kyiv, and documents related to Ukraine’s economic recovery. At the same time, Russia demands that Ukraine does not join NATO, withdraws from the Donbas region, and maintains the country’s neutral status.
European leaders emphasize the need to maintain caution and balance during the negotiations.
