US President Donald Trump plans to strengthen immigration control in 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within this plan, the number of inspections at workplaces will increase, and an additional $170 billion will be allocated for immigration services. This measure is causing concern among some of the population, especially ahead of the midterm elections.
The Trump administration has already deployed immigration agents across major cities and conducted inspections in certain neighborhoods. However, while some businesses have been inspected, farms and manufacturing facilities have remained outside the scope of these checks.
According to the new plan, controls at workplaces and detention centers will be intensified, which could affect many people. This measure is causing various reactions.
For example, residents of some cities like Miami have expressed dissatisfaction. Some businesses have ceased operations to avoid inspections, and parents have refrained from sending their children to schools due to concerns.
According to data, 41 percent of those detained are individuals who have only violated immigration rules. Such extensive inspections targeting workplaces next year may negatively impact the economy and workforce.
Experts predict that this measure will lead to increased labor costs and higher product prices. The Trump administration aims to compel employers to comply with legal employment procedures.
