The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has imposed sanctions on US companies and certain individuals supplying arms to Taiwan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These sanctions cover the St. Louis division of the US Boeing company as well as 20 other defense companies. Additionally, 10 individuals, including the founder of Anduril Industries and its senior executives, have been added to the sanctions list.
Under these sanctions, the financial assets of the companies and individuals in China will be frozen, and they are prohibited from cooperating with local organizations. Furthermore, the sanctioned individuals are also banned from entering Chinese territory.
These measures were taken in response to the US plan to supply arms to Taiwan worth $11.1 billion. Chinese representatives consider this military aid a violation of the "red line of core interests" regarding Taiwan.
They emphasized that a firm response will be given to such actions and reiterated that Taiwan is regarded as an inseparable part of China. Taiwan, however, rejects this claim and considers itself an independent state.
According to US legislation, there is an obligation to provide Taiwan with the necessary means to defend itself. However, this issue has consistently been a source of tension in relations between China and the US.
