
Cambodia and Thailand have reached an agreement to ceasefire in order to resolve their conflicts. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to a representative of the Thai Ministry of Defense, the ceasefire came into effect at 10:00 AM Tashkent time. This was reported by mass media outlets.
After the agreement took effect, the Thai side reported that no shootings were observed at the border with Cambodia. Similarly, Cambodia has not issued any statement regarding violations of the ceasefire.
The implementation of the agreement will be monitored by the ASEAN organization. In a joint statement, the parties agreed that the military would maintain their positions and refrain from moving additional forces.
Additionally, there is an agreement that no force will be used against civilians. Furthermore, the Thai side stated that if the ceasefire is not violated for 72 hours, they will return 18 Cambodian soldiers.
According to information from both sides during the border conflict, a total of 101 people have died, and over 500,000 residents have been forced to leave their homes. The military used rockets and artillery in the clashes.
According to data, in the 2025 ranking of the world's strongest armies, Cambodia occupies 95th place, while Thailand ranks 25th.
