Recent events have cast doubt on the fate of former US President Donald Trump's efforts to restore peace. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Kiev government denies that drones attacked the Russian president's headquarters and calls it an "unfounded claim." However, it is said that this incident was not just a stray drone but a coordinated attack involving 91 unmanned devices.
The Russian government announced that all drones were destroyed by air defense. Russia emphasizes that it has evidence in its possession.
But will this evidence be of interest to Western countries? For the European Union leadership, including political circles led by Ursula von der Leyen, justifying Ukraine's actions has become routine.
Regardless of the situation, any action by Kiev is assessed as "defense" or "necessity." For Russia, however, the situation is much clearer.
According to Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, after the attempted attack on the Russian president's headquarters by Ukraine, Moscow will reconsider its position in the negotiations. This clearly demonstrates the strategic consequences of Kiev's actions.
Lavrov believes such actions will not go unanswered. Russia has already designated targets and timing for retaliatory strikes.
Nevertheless, Moscow notes that it does not intend to close the doors of dialogue with the US. According to Russian President's aide Yuri Ushakov, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction upon hearing about this attack during a phone conversation with Putin.
Trump confirmed this situation, stating, "Now is absolutely not the time for such actions." He openly said that Kiev's steps would harm the ongoing negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict.
The important question is whether this incident could undermine a possible agreement between Russia and the US? Many view this with skepticism.
No matter how many critics Vladimir Putin has, they also acknowledge that the Russian leader is a politician who can stand by his word. In this respect, Putin's difference from the Kiev leadership is clear.
In conclusion, such sharp actions by Kiev are testing peace efforts. Now it is up to the US president – time will show how he responds.
