Tensions between the US and Venezuela are escalating

Donald Trump reported on the Truth Social social network that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were arrested and expelled from the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information has also been circulated by some sources, including Reuters agency. In his statement, Trump emphasized that this operation was carried out in cooperation with US law enforcement agencies.
He indicated that details of the operation might be provided later. However, screenshots circulating on social networks have not been independently verified.
On January 3, Reuters agency reported that the US carried out military strikes on Venezuelan territory, with explosions in Caracas, sounds of low-flying aircraft, black smoke, and power outages in some areas. Associated Press also covered the event, noting seven explosion sounds, sightings of low-flying planes, and smoke rising from a military base area.
According to AP, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a decision to impose restrictions on US flights over Venezuelan territory. Reuters reported that the Venezuelan government assessed these events as a US military aggression.
Nicolas Maduro announced a national state of emergency, strengthening defense measures, and initiating mobilization plans. The White House and the Pentagon have not commented on these reports.
