The US is discussing a plan to support Greenland

The US administration is considering new initiatives regarding Greenland. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Reuters, the White House is discussing the possibility of encouraging the people of Greenland to separate from Denmark and establish closer ties with the US by providing them with a one-time financial aid. The proposed amount could range from $10,000 to $100,000 per person.
Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark. Officials from Denmark and Greenland have consistently emphasized that the island is not for sale.
European countries have also supported Denmark's position, stating that Greenland's future should be decided only by Denmark and Greenland. This issue is causing serious discussions among NATO allies as well.
US President Donald Trump considers Greenland an important territory from the perspective of national security and strategic resources. According to White House representatives, various ways to connect Greenland with the US, including diplomatic agreements and special cooperation treaties, are being worked on.
At the same time, official negotiations with Denmark are also planned. The issue of Greenland's independence has been discussed for many years.
Although part of the population supports separation from Denmark, a referendum has not yet been held due to economic and social problems. Poll results show that the majority of Greenlanders do not support the idea of joining the US.
