Russia will double its gas exports to Uzbekistan by 2030

Russia plans to significantly increase gas exports to Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries by 2030. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Specifically, the volume of gas supplied to Uzbekistan is expected to rise from the current 5.6 billion cubic meters to 12 billion cubic meters. This was reported by Kursiv.uz.
Additionally, gas exports to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are also planned to increase. The volume of gas sent to Kazakhstan may grow from 3 billion cubic meters to 6-7 billion cubic meters annually, and to Kyrgyzstan from 0.5 billion cubic meters to 1 billion cubic meters.
According to calculations by the economic forecasting center under Gazprombank, by 2030 Russia's gas exports to Central Asian countries will reach 19-20 billion cubic meters per year. This figure will be more than double compared to 2024.
Experts believe that these plans are mainly related to Russia's attempts to compensate for losses in the European market through Central Asia. However, increasing the volume of gas supply will depend on resolving technical and economic issues.
First of all, it is necessary to rebuild the infrastructure of the "Central Asia – Center" gas pipeline. At the same time, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan may enter into competition to use the capacities of this pipeline.
