The US made strong claims regarding Greenland

US presidential advisor Steven Miller made a sharp statement regarding Greenland. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In an interview with Fox News, he emphasized that whoever can defend the territory should also have control over it. According to him, Denmark's economy and military are insufficient to fully protect Greenland.
According to Miller, the right to control a territory depends on the ability to defend it, a principle that has existed since ancient times. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, and as a NATO member, Denmark is responsible for ensuring its security within the international system.
However, the Trump administration considers Greenland a strategic area for US national security and the geopolitical balance in the Arctic. Trump believes that Russia and China's activity in the region is increasing, which raises the island's importance.
Additionally, Trump's team highlights Greenland as a strategic point within the missile defense system. The island's location could play an important role in surveillance and defense activities along the Arctic route.
Such statements are causing concern in Europe. Trump previously said that the US should take control over Greenland and even suggested that a military option could be considered.
As a result, European countries are forced to pay more serious attention to security issues in the Arctic. The main question is whether these statements are political pressure or the beginning of a major game?
In any case, it is clear that the Greenland issue will be discussed on the international agenda for a long time. The Arctic is increasingly becoming a region of strategic importance.
