Bank accounts for migrants in Russia may be restricted

A deputy of the State Duma of Russia, Lugovoy, has proposed limiting the number of bank accounts for migrants. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this initiative, the principle of "one person — one bank — one account" may be introduced for foreign citizens. This would restrict migrants from opening accounts in multiple banks simultaneously.
Additionally, the proposal includes changes to the procedure for opening bank accounts. In particular, it is suggested that migrants will only be able to open bank accounts based on an international passport.
This aims to further tighten the process of identity verification and document checks. So far, this initiative is only at the proposal stage, and no specific information has been announced regarding its discussion or implementation timeline.
