Russia launched a massive airstrike on Ukraine

Russian forces launched a massive airstrike on Ukraine on the night of January 21. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force, an "Iskander-M" ballistic missile was launched from Crimea, and a total of 97 drones, including Shahed and other types of attack drones, were used. The drones were launched from Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Krasnodar, Crimea, and the Russian-occupied Donetsk regions.
Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 84 drones. The ballistic missile and 13 drones caused damage in 11 regions of the country, and drone debris fell in another location where a drone was shot down.
The attacks reportedly continued during the morning and daytime of January 21. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, the strikes partially disrupted electricity supply in the Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions.
In Kyiv and the region, cold weather has increased the load, and power outages continue. The ministry stated that repair brigades and emergency teams brought in from other regions are working continuously.
According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, 4,000 homes in Kyiv are without heating, and 60 percent of buildings are without electricity. The most severe situation is observed in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
In the Odessa region, one civilian was injured, and private homes and industrial infrastructure were damaged. Despite the airstrikes, Ukrainian air defense is actively operating, repair work is ongoing, and measures are being taken to restore the system.
The situation is complicated, but the system has not completely failed.
