Meeting between Zelensky and Trump took place in Davos

A meeting took place between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and former US President Donald Trump in Davos, Switzerland. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This dialogue was organized on January 22 within the framework of the World Economic Forum and lasted approximately one hour. According to White House representatives, these negotiations were aimed at discussing pressing issues between the two countries.
After the meeting, Trump emphasized to journalists that the conversation with Zelenskiy went well. According to him, it is necessary to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump noted that achieving peace is important for both sides. He had also previously announced plans to meet Zelenskiy in Davos and expressed confidence that the Ukrainian president was ready for an agreement.
This meeting was held on the eve of planned negotiations in Moscow between the US special envoy Steve Whitkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This further increased the political significance of the dialogue in Davos.
Before visiting Davos, Zelenskiy emphasized that Russian airstrikes were ongoing, and therefore there were many important matters in Ukraine. According to him, negotiations would only be productive if they yield concrete results, such as specific agreements or signed documents on the delivery of air defense systems.
In conclusion, the dialogue in Davos appears not to be a protocol meeting but rather aimed at determining the next steps. The main question now is whether these negotiations will soon lead to real actions or will turn into prolonged diplomatic talks once again.
