Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi provided information about the ongoing mass protests in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, the number of people killed during the protests has reached 3117. The majority of the victims, that is 2427, were civilians and security personnel, while 690 were recorded as "terrorists."
It is reported that a large amount of damage was caused during the protests. Specifically, 305 ambulances and buses, 24 fuel stations, 700 retail stores, 300 private houses, 750 banks, 414 government institutions, 749 police stations, and 120 Basij centers were damaged.
Additionally, 200 schools, 350 mosques, 15 libraries, 2 Armenian churches, 253 bus stops, 600 ATMs, and 800 private cars were also destroyed. The protests began at the end of December due to dissatisfaction with the country's economic situation.
Officials blame the United States and Israel for organizing these disturbances. At the same time, US President Donald Trump emphasized that Iran would face serious consequences if the protests are suppressed harshly.
