Gaza Reconstruction Project Faces Criticism

At the World Economic Forum, a new project for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip was presented by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The project aims to transform the devastated area into a modern tourist center. However, the international community and local activists are sharply criticizing this initiative.
They call the project a "business plan built on human tragedies." According to the project, luxurious hotels, resorts, and multi-story residential buildings are planned to be constructed along Gaza's coastal areas.
Additionally, a new international airport and a large seaport are planned to be established. The project is estimated to be worth 25 billion dollars.
Trump described this initiative as a project serving regional stability. However, objections to this plan are increasing.
Palestinian writer Susan Abulhawa emphasized that the project is an "imperialistic conspiracy" aimed at displacing the local population from their lands. One of the main criticisms is that the opinions of Palestinians were not taken into account at all during the project's preparation process.
Moreover, there is no clear information about the sources of funding for the investment. The project is said to be implemented within the framework of the "Peace Council," but there is no mention of Gaza in the council's charter.
Experts note that this structure is viewed as an alternative to the UN and mainly serves Trump's geopolitical goals. The situation in the Gaza Strip remains very severe.
As of October 2023, more than 71,000 Palestinians have died, 80 percent of buildings in the sector have been destroyed. 2.3 million people live in harsh conditions, with widespread hunger and diseases.
Although the UN has recognized Israel's actions as genocide, the situation is not improving. According to "The Guardian," Jared Kushner's active involvement in the project may be linked to his personal economic interests.
It is assumed that if construction work begins, the investment fund owned by Kushner will earn significant profits. This further intensifies the criticism about doing business on human tragedies.
In your opinion, can such projects, which do not take into account the opinions and interests of the local population, truly serve peace and stability?
