A seminar on public procurement reform was held in Tashkent
A seminar dedicated to reforming the public procurement system was organized in Tashkent city by the World Bank. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The event was held during the visit of Felipe Goya, head of the procurement department for the Europe and Central Asia region at the World Bank. uzdaily.uz reported on this seminar.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade, operators of electronic platforms for public procurement, as well as representatives of international financial institutions. In particular, specialists from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Islamic Development Bank actively participated in the seminar.

The seminar discussed pressing directions for improving the public procurement system in Uzbekistan. The results of assessments conducted by the World Bank were presented, and the current state of reforms, existing problems, and recommendations for improving the system were reviewed.

Additionally, the results of studies conducted by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank were discussed. During the event, special attention was paid to introducing electronic public procurement systems in certain sectors and expanding the practice of "green" public procurement, which involves purchasing environmentally friendly and energy-efficient products.

Participants also reviewed mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of measures aimed at increasing the transparency and efficiency of the public procurement system. This seminar served as an open dialogue platform among government agencies, international organizations, and experts, facilitating the coordination of approaches to modernize and digitize public procurement in Uzbekistan.
