The embassy is assisting Uzbeks held in the USA
Diplomats from Uzbekistan's embassy in the USA visited temporary detention centers in the state of Virginia, where they met with Uzbeks being held there. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

These individuals are awaiting deportation decisions due to their illegal stay in the USA and have requested assistance in expediting the return process. According to "Dunyo" news, embassy representatives assessed the conditions of the citizens' detention, their health, and living situation, providing them with explanations regarding consular and legal matters.

The diplomatic mission stated that it will assist in processing the necessary documents and help return them to Uzbekistan as soon as possible. In light of recent changes in US immigration policy, the embassy called on Uzbeks living in the country to strictly comply with migration laws and refrain from illegal activities.

If necessary, citizens can contact the consular section of the Uzbekistan embassy in Washington at +1 (202) 887-5300 or via email at consul.washington@mfa.uz. Earlier, it was reported that more than 40 Uzbek citizens deported from the USA due to violations of migration rules had arrived in Tashkent.
