Netanyahu and Witkoff discussed Gaza and Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and the issue of HAMAS. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to a statement released by the Israeli Prime Minister's office, Netanyahu firmly emphasized the necessity of disarming HAMAS and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip. He also stated that the reconstruction of Gaza should only begin after the war objectives are fully achieved.
During the meeting, Netanyahu openly stated that the Palestinian National Authority would not be involved in governing the Gaza Strip. He expressed his support for applying a no-exception approach on this matter.
The parties discussed not only Gaza but also other important regional issues. In particular, the situation related to Iran was a special focus.
This topic gained additional significance ahead of Whitkoff's planned meeting with the Iranian representative. The statement emphasized that Netanyahu clearly explained his position on the Iran issue to Whitkoff.
In his view, Iran has repeatedly proven through its actions that it is not trustworthy. Therefore, Israel believes it is necessary to maintain caution and a firm stance in any dialogue on this matter.
Overall, the meeting once again demonstrated the complexity of the regional situation and the urgency of the problems. The demands regarding Gaza are strict, and there seems to be no path to agreement on political participation.
Regarding the Iran issue, the trust problem remains central. This dialogue has further complicated the regional situation and raised new questions.
