Saxaul is planted at the bottom of the Aral Sea, restoring the ecology

On February 25, participants of the "Aral School" took part in planting saxaul seedlings in the dried-up area of the Aral Sea as part of the UN Development Programme's "Green Aral Sea" initiative. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The ACDF press service reported on this. In this initiative held in one of the regions most affected by climate change, participants worked together with environmental specialists and experienced mentors.
They contributed to land restoration and maintaining ecological balance. It is noted that each planted saxaul seedling serves as a natural barrier against saline dust storms in the area, as well as helps to strengthen the soil and supports the long-term sustainable restoration of the ecosystem.
As a result of joint efforts by the UN Development Programme, ACDF, and "Aral School," it is planned to plant saxaul and other halophyte species seedlings on 90,000 hectares of the dried-up seabed of the Aral Sea. This project aims to improve the ecological condition of the region and create a sustainable environment for future generations.
