A dangerous geopolitical situation is developing around Central Asia

The world is currently going through a period of unrest. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The strikes carried out by Israel and the USA against Iran, as well as the armed clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, are creating a dangerous geopolitical situation around Central Asia. These conflicts have practical significance for Uzbekistan, not just theoretical.
Although Iran is far from us, Afghanistan is located near our southern borders. Primarily, economic pressure may manifest.
The conflict between Israel and Iran affects the global energy market. Iran and the Persian Gulf region play an important role in global oil supply.
Any tension there can lead to price increases in the world market, which will have a chain effect on Uzbekistan's economy. Rising oil and gas prices will cause an increase in the cost of imported fuel and lubricants.
This will negatively impact agriculture, industry, and logistics. Additionally, in a global environment of unrest, investors may turn to safe assets, particularly the US dollar.
This will increase pressure on national currencies and may lead to the depreciation of the som. As a result, the prices of imported goods may rise, accelerating inflation.
Transport and transit prospects are also at risk. Uzbekistan was promoting a strategy to access the ocean through southern ports.
However, the current geopolitical situation complicates these plans. Iran's Chabahar port and the trans-Afghan railway projects may become uncertain due to instability.
This could slow down plans to access South Asian ports. Security and humanitarian issues are also considered urgent.
Tensions around Iran increase economic risks, and the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan may negatively affect regional security. Therefore, Uzbekistan needs to closely monitor these situations and take appropriate measures.
