The rise in meat prices in Kazakhstan was caused by exports from Uzbekistan.

The rise in beef prices in Kazakhstan's domestic market may be related to the volume of exports to neighboring Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by Yerbol Tasjurekov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, at a briefing held by the Central Communications Service. According to the data, Kazakhstan produces more beef than it needs.
For example, last year the country produced 430 thousand tons of beef, while domestic demand was 400 thousand tons. The remaining 30 thousand tons of the product is directed for export.
According to Tasjurekov, since meat prices in the Uzbek market are higher compared to Kazakhstan, local producers prefer to sell their products to the neighboring country. This situation leads to a decrease in supply in the domestic market and an increase in prices.
Therefore, the government is working on a new comprehensive plan to develop livestock farming. This plan is expected to serve in the future to ensure stable supply to the domestic market and increase export potential.
Earlier, various statistical data on meat export prices to Uzbekistan were published. In particular, reports that one kilogram of meat was sold for about three dollars were questioned by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, which said it could be a technical error.
For this reason, it is important to pay attention to official data on prices and export volumes.
