Ramadan Bayram may be celebrated in Tajikistan on March 19

New announcements have been made regarding the date marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan in the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the latest data from the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic, this year's fasting month may last not the traditional 30 days, but 29 days based on lunar calendar calculations. Therefore, Eid al-Fitr may be celebrated not on March 20 as initially planned, but one day earlier, namely on March 19.
Officials and experts of the agency attribute this situation to the subtle rules of the lunar calendar. According to their explanation, since the months of Rajab and Sha'ban preceding Ramadan consecutively consisted of 30 days, it is considered an astronomical law that the third month usually ends in 29 days.
Saidmukarram Abdulqodirzoda, Chairman of the Council of Ulema of Tajikistan, also confirmed this opinion and noted that Ramadan began one day earlier in many countries of the Islamic world. In conclusion, it is expected that most Islamic countries will celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year on March 19.
The Mufti of Tajikistan has called upon the people not to hastily believe various rumors and unreliable sources. He emphasized that official decisions regarding the date of the holiday and the end of the fasting month will be announced solely based on scientific calculations and Sharia rules.
The population is asked not to worry unnecessarily and to closely monitor information from official sources. Thus, all Muslims should welcome the month of Ramadan with pure intentions and celebrate the holiday in accordance with Sharia rules.
