Larijani calls Trump's threats against Iran groundless and empty

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, sharply criticized US President Donald Trump's threats against the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In these statements, Larijani described the American leader's words as baseless and empty. In his social media post, he called on Washington to exercise caution and emphasized that no force can break the Iranian people.
According to him, Iran is not afraid of empty and momentary threats; on the contrary, he warned that Trump himself, who has become overly confident, could also find himself in great danger. Diplomatic tensions escalated further following the US President's statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
In his speech, Trump stated that if Iran attempts to halt oil flows through these critical maritime routes, the consequences for Tehran would be extremely severe, and they could suffer twenty times more damage than before. The Strait of Hormuz is considered the sole and strategically vital route for transporting oil for Gulf states.
The situation became even more complicated following reports on February 28, 2025, about the launch of a military operation against Iran by the US and Israel. In response to these military actions, the Tehran government announced a complete ban on ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
This decision has sparked major concerns in the international oil market, as this region plays a decisive role in global energy supply. Currently, the escalating rhetoric between the parties is increasing the risk of new military confrontations in the region.
The international community awaits prompt and effective measures to be taken soon to maintain peace in the region.
