US Defense Secretary Asked Russia Not to Intervene in Iran

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth recently made an important statement. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to him, the Russian Federation should not interfere in possible military operations that the United States and Israel could carry out against Iran. These remarks were announced one day after a phone conversation between US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the New York Post, this dialogue served to open a new chapter in relations between the two powerful states. During the conversation, pressing issues such as international security and regional stability were discussed in depth.
Although Pete Hegseth did not directly participate in this conversation, he emphasized that the negotiations took place in a very serious and determined spirit. According to the minister, the parties explored ways to end the long-standing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
At the same time, opportunities to reach specific agreements on restoring peace and ensuring stability in the region were considered. The American side is asking Russian leaders to maintain neutrality regarding the situation with Iran and direct their resources toward other important tasks.
Earlier, in his conversation with Putin, Donald Trump stated that Russia could assist on the Iran issue, but the first and main task is to stop hostilities in Ukrainian territory. According to US leadership, Russia should use its significant foreign policy influence to play a constructive role in mitigating global conflicts.
It should be noted that Iran and Russia have been close allies for many years. In particular, since February 2022, Tehran has been supplying Shahid drones to Moscow.
This situation is being sharply criticized by Western countries and has attracted significant attention in the international community.
