Drone Attacks in the Gulf Resulted in Casualties

Drone strikes carried out in the Gulf region have resulted in numerous casualties and prompted widespread security alerts. Zamin.uz reports this.
On March 23, 2026, Omani officials reported that two foreign nationals were killed following a drone strike on the Al-Awabi industrial area in Sohar province. A second drone fell into an open field nearby, causing no additional casualties.
This incident occurred shortly after a separate strike on fuel tanks at the Port of Salalah earlier in the week. Officials confirmed that oil supply operations were not affected.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia faced a wave of aerial attacks. The Ministry of Defense announced that its defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed several enemy drones targeting the capital, Riyadh, specifically the Diplomatic Quarter.
In total, more than 20 drones were neutralized across the central and eastern provinces. In the United Arab Emirates, debris from an intercepted drone fell on a building in Dubai, though no reports of injuries have been received.
These coordinated attacks are taking place against a backdrop of regional instability amid escalating tensions between Iran and the coalition led by the United States and Israel. Since military hostilities began on February 28, Tehran has been launching retaliatory strikes targeting foreign military bases in the Middle East.
Ongoing violence is causing significant casualties and disorder. Lebanon also reports increasing heavy bombardments and fatalities as the regional crisis continues.
