US military aircraft crashes in Iraq

The United States Central Command officially confirmed on March 12, 2026, that a US-owned KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed in the western region of Iraq. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Military leadership informed that rescue operations are actively ongoing to locate and safely extract the crew. However, at present, there is no precise information about survivors or casualties among the officers and soldiers on board.
The situation is serious, and all forces are directed towards the search. According to official reports, this accident occurred during a military maneuver called Operation Epic Fury.
It is noted that a second aircraft flying simultaneously landed safely without any damage. US military officials emphasize that no clear evidence has been found that the plane crashed as a result of gunfire from enemy or friendly forces.
However, a group called the Islamic Resistance Movement in Iraq claims responsibility for shooting down this tanker. This incident became another major problem for the US during the ongoing military campaign against Iran since February 28.
The situation in the region is becoming more complicated and is also facing internal political opposition. According to the results of recent polls, a broad segment of American voters does not support the ongoing military attacks.
This is putting additional pressure on the governing bodies. The disaster continues a series of failures experienced by US forces in the region.
At the beginning of March, three fighter jets were lost due to an error in Kuwait's air defense systems. While search and rescue operations continue, the Pentagon remains under pressure to answer to the public regarding the causes of the aircraft's disappearance and the fate of the personnel.
The situation is being monitored, and new information is expected in the coming days.
