Thousands of people in Spain protested against the war in the Middle East

Widespread protests were held across Spain on the weekend. Zamin.uz reported this.
In Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and dozens of other towns, thousands of citizens voiced their opposition to the ongoing war in the Middle East. In the capital Madrid, nearly five thousand people gathered in squares around Atocha station to demand an end to the war.
Protesters held signs with slogans and directly criticized NATO as well. Emphasizing that the fighting in the region threatens stability, they called for a path to peace.
Event organizers issued a special statement declaring the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip a serious security issue. They noted that the ongoing bombings are not just a local conflict but draw attention to global security concerns.
Participants called on democratic states to comply with international law and immediately end the violence. They demanded that the government adopt a humanitarian perspective and pursue diplomatic solutions.
The protest movement was not limited to the capital but spread widely to the country's largest cities. Residents of Barcelona, Zaragoza, and Santander advised their governments to be more active in resolving the crisis peacefully.
Citizens emphasized that the current situation is hard to justify and that every human life must be valued. These demonstrations clearly expressed the people's hope for peace and their strong opposition to war.
The goal is not merely to express dissent but to draw the attention of the international community to the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
