Trump's Focus on the Middle East Left Peace in Ukraine at Risk

Unexpected and sharp changes are taking place in world politics. Zamin.uz reports on this.
After the United States shifted its focus to the Middle East, the peace process in Ukraine has been put at risk. According to reputable foreign publications, because White House leader Donald Trump has directed all his attention to military issues related to Iran, diplomatic negotiations on the Ukraine issue have slowed down significantly.
This situation is leading to a weakening of political pressure on Moscow. The trilateral meeting held in Geneva in mid-February had raised great hopes.
Although some progress has been observed on technical issues, no politically significant agreements have been reached. The future of the Donbas region, the status of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and other important questions remain open.
The Ukrainian government emphasizes that it is currently impossible to accept the harsh conditions set by the Russian side. European diplomats assess Trump's distraction from Ukraine as a serious threat to regional security.
Currently, Ukraine and Middle Eastern states are forced to compete for American military and financial aid. Due to Washington's divided attention, delays are being observed in the delivery of necessary weapons and defense systems to Ukraine.
Furthermore, conflicts in the Middle East have brought unexpected benefits to the Russian economy. As a result of rising oil prices, Moscow is earning additional income every day.
The fact that the US has temporarily lifted some restrictions on Russian fuel in order to stabilize oil prices is worrying Kyiv's leaders. Relations between Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky are also becoming more complicated.
The US president has emphasized that reaching an agreement with the Ukrainian leader is much more difficult than negotiating with Putin. The Russian side, in turn, is not rushing to make concessions and continues to demand full control over Donbas.
This situation is further complicating peace plans in the region.
