Drone Attack and Fire at Dubai Airport

A severe drone attack followed by a fire was observed near Dubai International Airport last Monday, March 16. Zamin.uz reported on this incident.
According to information posted by the United Arab Emirates Civil Aviation Authority on social media, flight operations at the airport have been temporarily suspended, and it remains unclear when normal service will resume. The airport's official press service stated that a drone struck one of the fuel reserve tanks, but the fire was quickly extinguished and the situation is under control.
Currently, traffic on major roads and tunnels leading to the airport is restricted. The country's flagship airline, Emirates, has temporarily suspended flights to Dubai and rerouted some aircraft to Al Maktoum International Airport.
According to the international Reuters news agency, this incident marks the third major strike on Dubai Airport during attacks launched by Iran in the Persian Gulf region. Military operations conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran are causing significant disruptions in the regional international aviation system.
The government of the United Arab Emirates announced that since the start of the war, its air defense system has successfully intercepted over 1,500 Iranian drones and nearly 300 missiles. During the most intense phase of the conflict, six people were killed, four of whom were civilians.
Since February 28 last year, the United States and Israel have continued air strikes against Iran. In response, Iran has launched counterattacks on Israeli territory and the states of the Persian Gulf.
Furthermore, Tehran is complicating commercial shipping by mining and blocking the Strait of Hormuz. This situation is causing a sharp rise in prices on the global oil market.
These events serve as a serious warning for the overall security situation in the region and future international aviation operations.
